Please note the different kernel flavours:
eeepc
Most closely related to the generic Ubuntu kernel. Very few features
contained in the generic kernel were removed from the eeepc kernel.
This was done to ensure compatibility with non-standard EeePC hardware
(like USB wireless connectors, USB cd/dvd-roms, touchscreens, etc.)
eeepc-lean
Indicates only the bare-minimum EeePC-related
configuration options are enabled. Most of the drivers normally
compiled in as modules in the generic/eeepc kernels have been compiled
in-line. This kernel typically responds faster and requires less
boot-up time.
